New Bunnies

Nothing beats new bunnies.

Bunny slippers, that is. They arrived today from Runaway Rabbit. I was so excited to rip open the package and walk around in them for a little while this afternoon.

As I put on my slippers this evening, I realized that I have been wearing bunny slippers for 15-1/2 years. I have my friends Tammy and Denise to thank for giving me my first pair following a surgery I had. I fell in love with them - the slippers, that is. Oh, and I just got a warm fuzzy feeling remembering the nightgown they gave me to go with the slippers. It said "Princess of Quite Alot." Gosh, I loved that nightgown.

But I digress. Tonight, I put on my jammies and then slipped on my new bunnies. I was so excited that I had to take a picture. Check these out:

Beautiful, huh? I just can't figure out why it took me so long to order a new pair. My old pair was so very sad. The feet were completely flattened and the dirt wouldn't even wash out anymore. They were so sad that I had to take a picture to share.

The bummer is that this picture doesn't capture the really flattened, dirty nature of these slippers. However, I had already happily thrown them in the garbage by the time I downloaded the pictures. So, it was too late to take any additional pictures.

Maybe I should be relieved that I can't embarrass myself further by showing you just how awful my everyday slippers were. Yes, I wore these every day. Every day for the past two - or is it three? - years.

I've just promised myself to buy the replacement pair to these fluffy new bunnies a little sooner next time. I promise.

Oh my! I wore a pair of Stegmann wool clogs from the time I was pregnant with Samuel until he went to NCSSM-16 years. They had holes in the soles at the heel and cracks under the ball of the foot. I think they are still in my closet somewhere. I'm emotionally attached to them and they aren't nearly as cute as the bunny slippers!
